9am – 1pm
Peter O’Sullevan House, the Injured Jockeys Fund’s third Rehabilitation and Fitness Centre, is now open, and will welcome the public on Saturday 21st September as part of The Sir Henry Cecil Open Weekend. Two gym demonstrations will be held at 9:30am and 11:00am.
Located adjacent to the British Racing School in Newmarket, the centre opened its doors for the first time on Monday 12th August 2019, equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation and fitness facilities, including physio treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, and a light and airy gym. Experts at the centre will also offer nutritional advice, sports psychology and general pastoral care.
The official opening by IJF President, Sir Anthony McCoy, will take place on Friday 11th October giving the centre a few months to become fully operational – with all jockeys, past and present, welcome through the doors from now on.Back
