TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE NOW

Please note: your Henry Cecil Open Weekend ticket does not grant access to Newmarket Racecourse. You can buy joint tickets here. 

Any tickets purchased after 17th September will need to be collected on the day.

If you are coming on Saturday, please collect your wristband from The National Horseracing Museum from 10am or any open site. 

If you are coming on Sunday, please collect your ticket from the ticket marquee on The Severals car park or any open yard.

The Henry Cecil Open Weekend is looking forward to welcoming visitors once again to British horseracing’s HQ.

Enjoy an action-packed weekend of events and the opportunity to get exclusive behind the scenes access to some of Britain’s best-known racing yards.

Here is everything you need to know about the weekend:

DATES

Saturday 23rd  and Sunday 24th September 2023

Advanced Tickets: £15

Ticket on the day: £20

All children under 16 years of age go free.

Programme: £3

Advanced ticket purchasers will be sent a wristband in the post.

Advanced programme purchases will be sent a voucher to exchange on the day for a programme.

CHARITIES

 The Henry Cecil Open Weekend 2023 is raising money in support of Racing Welfare, British Racing School and Newmarket Open Door.

STABLE TOURS

 Go behind the scenes at some of the country’s leading training operations from 9am -12:30pm on Sunday 24th September ONLY. A full list of yards opening their doors will be available in due course.

NEWMARKET TOURS

 Enjoy tours of Newmarket’s finest equine establishments over both days.

Saturday 23rd September 

  • 9am-12noon: Newmarket Equine Hospital open. Tours every 15 minutes with last tour starting at 11:30am.
  • 9am-1pm: British Racing School open. Tours at 10am and 11:30am.
  • 10am-5pm: National Horseracing Museum open. Discounted entry of £5 when show your HCOW wristband.
  • 10am-12noon: Injured Jockeys Fund Peter O’Sullevan House
  • 10:30am-3pm: Retraining of Racehorse Show at National Horseracing Museum
  • 12pm and 2pm: Tours of the Jockey Club Rooms. £5 charge, pre booking required through Discover Newmarket, please email admin@discovernewmarket.co.uk.

National Horseracing Museum**General admission to NHRM is £5 per day during the Henry Cecil Open Weekend when you present your HCOW wristband at the museum. Ticket includes entrance to the museum, behind-the-scenes tours, access to the special exhibitions, meeting the retired racehorses, and a ride on the racehorse simulator.

Sunday 24th September

All events on Sunday afternoon take place on The Severals including Dullingham Park Shetland Pony Grand National, HCOW Racehorse Parade sponsored by Al Shaqab, Daylesford Organic Racing Personality Show Jumping, Fitzdares Fun Dog Show.

  • 8am-9am: Warren Hill Gallops
  • 9am-12:30pm: Yards open
  • 10am-5pm: National Horseracing Museum open
  • 12noon: Tattersalls Talk
  • 1pm onwards: Programme of events on The Severals
