TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE HERE

Your Henry Cecil Open Weekend wristbands grants you access to events taking place on both Saturday and Sunday. Please check the timetable below for any sites that require pre booking.

Unfortunately, it has not been possible to set up a joint ticket for HCOW and Newmarket Races this year. However, if you would like to buy a ticket for both, you can make two separate purchases through the link above.

The Henry Cecil Open Weekend is looking forward to welcoming visitors once again to British horseracing’s HQ.

Enjoy an action-packed weekend of events and the opportunity to get exclusive behind the scenes access to some of Britain’s best-known racing yards.

Here is everything you need to know about the weekend:

DATES

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2026

TICKETS

Advanced Tickets: £15

Tickets on the day: £20

All children under 18 years of age go free.

Programme: £5

Please note: your Henry Cecil Open Weekend ticket does not grant access to Newmarket Racecourse. You can buy a ticket separately here.

Advanced ticket purchasers will be sent a wristband in the post.

Advanced programme purchases will be sent a voucher to exchange on the day for a programme.

Any tickets purchased after 14th September will need to be collected on the day.

If you are coming on Saturday and didn’t receive your ticket in the post, please collect your wristband from The National Horseracing Museum from 10am or any open site.

If you are coming on Sunday and didn’t receive your ticket in the post, please collect your ticket from the ticket marquee on The Severals car park or any open yard.

CHARITIES

 The Henry Cecil Open Weekend 2026 is raising money in support of the Newmarket Housing Trust and Racing Welfare.

STABLE TOURS

 Go behind the scenes at some of the country’s leading training operations from 9am -12:30pm on Sunday 20th September ONLY.

NEWMARKET TOURS

 Enjoy tours of Newmarket’s finest equine establishments over both days.

  • British Racing School open.
  • Injured Jockeys Fund Peter O’Sullevan House
  • Godolphin Rehoming open (CB8 9SR)
  • National Horseracing Museum open. FREE entry when show your HCOW wristband.
  • Rossdales open
  • The National Stud. Pre-booking required. Bookings open on 1st July.

9am - 1pmBritish Racing School open. Tours at 10am and 11:30am.
9am - 12noonThe Injured Jockeys Fund, Peter O’Sullevan House open.
9:00am -12noonRossdales Equine Hospital open. Tours starting every 15-20 minutes from 9:45am until 12pm. No admissions to the hospital site after 11.50am. Tours free for all HCOW wristband holders.
9:30am - 1pmGodolphin Rehoming Open. Ridden demonstrations at 10am and 12pm.
10:00amTours of Jockey Club Rooms at 10am and 12pm. Pre-booking required and additional fee of £5. To book, call 01638 663101 or email enquiries@jockeyclubrooms.co.uk.
10am - 5pmNational Horseracing Museum open. General admission to NHRM FREE during the Henry Cecil Open Weekend when you present your HCOW wristband. Ticket includes entrance to the museum, behind-the-scenes tours, access to the special exhibitions, meet retired racehorses and a ride on the racehorse simulator.
10:00 - 12noonThe National Stud open. Tours at 10am, 10:45am and 11:30am. Pre-booking required. Email open@nationalstud.co.uk.
1:40pm First race at Newmarket Racecourse-Rowley Mile.
All day FREE parkingTattersalls. Enter premises via The Avenue, CB8 9AY.

Sunday 20th September

All events on Sunday afternoon take place on The Severals including the Baker McVeigh Shetland Pony Grand National, Ace Stud Retired Racehorse Parade, Amo Racing Personality Show Jumping and Dick White Referrals Fun Dog Show

  • 8am-8:45am: Warren Hill Gallops
  • 9am-12:30pm: Yards open
  • 11:30am Talk at Tattersalls Bloodstock Auctioneers
  • 10am-5pm: National Horseracing Museum open
  • 1pm onwards: Programme of events on The Severals
