We began making Bedmax shavings in 2000 in response to demand from leading racing trainers in the UK for a natural bedding alternative to straw, with the lowest possible levels of airborne dust. Eliminating dust is still our top priority, but we make our shaving in our three dedicated UK production plants to a specification that helps safeguard horses not just against dust, but against all the stable health threats that can compromise their ability to perform at their best.
Today Bedmax shavings can be found in the stables at racing yards and studs all over the UK and Ireland, throughout Europe and the Middle East, Hong Kong and mainland China, Thailand, Japan and as far away as Australia. Bedmax is the bedding chosen by many leading equine vets and hospitals, and by major events including Badminton, Blenheim, Bramham and Burghley, and we are the first bedding manufacturer to achieve BETA NOPS accreditation verifying that we take every possible precaution at every stage of production to prevent the possibility of contamination by any Naturally Occurring Prohibited Substance (NOPS) that might cause a failed doping test.
